Darlene’s journey starts in the Philippines, where she was born and grew up surrounded by the rich language and traditions of her native Tagalog. Later in life, she moved to Canada, giving her a unique outlook that blends the warmth and cultural depth of Filipino traditions with the diversity of Canadian life.

Darlene’s professional background is both impressive and diverse. She began her career in the field of Travel and Tourism, which provided her with a deep understanding of different cultures and communication styles. This experience helped her become even more aware of how important language is when connecting people from different backgrounds. Her path also led her to explore early childhood education, where she learned how to create dynamic, engaging learning environments for young minds. Alongside this, she developed skills as an Expressive Arts Therapy Facilitator and Educator, where she blended arts with education to make learning a more meaningful experience.

However, what truly sets Darlene apart is her passion for Filipino culture. She is not just an educator, but also an expressive artist, deeply committed to preserving and promoting her heritage. Through her work in storytelling, music, and the arts, she actively advocates for greater awareness of Filipino culture.
